Juicing, not cooking

August 17th, 2012

I realized last night thatI’ve not been posting recipes.  Well duh.  That’s because I’ve been juicing and eating salads!

so I may not be bloggin about cooking for the next few months but I will blog about my juicing journey.  The one difficulty will be balancing juicing with drinking wine on Wednesday.  Wine Wednesday may go on hiatus for a few months.  I’m undecided.

Where I am today, dear readers:

Started juicing once a day about 3 weeks ago.  Finally dusted off my Jack Lalanne PJP Power Juicer Pro Stainless-Steel Electric Juicer (bought 2 years ago; used once) and made green juice for breakfast.   Been making green juice for breakfast 3 weeks until I saw Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead and the light bulb came on!

I was dismayed at the Americans interviewed in the film — unhealthy yet unable/unwilling to make change.   What have we turned food into?  Is what we eat even food anymore?  Are we addicted to food to the detriment of our health?

Bringing it closer to home, am I?  I want to live the best life possible during midlife.  Part of that has to be “live healthy.”

Not for vanity, not to wear trendy clothes but for health.  To live vibrantly, actively and independently.

Yeah, I’m juicing.   (in my next life, maybe I’ll be Halle Berry gorgeous in my teens/twenties.  Just to see how it feels!)

Stay tuned!

I agree! Juicing is the best way to get a sufficient amount of all the vitamins and minerals you need! Make sure you use a quality juicer and enjoy your good health!
