Wine Wednesday is Syrah – Shiraz Part Deux

2006 Kenneth Crawford Syrah, Santa Barbara County

My Tasting:  Have had this wine twice and each time, the first 2-4 sips are very effervescent!  My first time with this wine, I was so taken aback by the bubbly sensation on my tongue, I waited 3 hours before having a 2nd glass.  Thankfully, once the effervescence wore off, the wine was delicious!

Same with this tasting.    Earthy on the nose with chalk, dark berries (blackberries, blueberries) and vanilla.  This was delicious with smooth mellow tannins.  Mild black pepper made this a nice wine with roasted chicken.
